The School of Biotechnology offers a curriculum that reflects the multidisciplinary nature of Biotechnology, integrating theoretical and applied science in undergraduate and graduate courses. The school has six departments with about 300 employees, located at AlbaNova University Center in Stockholm and Science for Life Laboratory in Solna. The Biotechnology research within the school is internationally well recognized.

Job description

The group of Cell Technology (CETEG) in the Dept. Industrial Biotechnology/Bioprocess Design - School of Biotechnology, KTH, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden - has a strong experience in the development of biopharmaceutical drug bioprocesses for human therapy. CETEG, in collaboration with KTH Mathematics dept., has developed a new modelling approach for bioprocess called 'CG/poly-pathway' written in Matlab.

An engineer position in software development and modelling support is available at CETEG.

The responsibilities will include the development of a user-friendly interface for CG/poly-pathway modelling code and support to apply the CG/poly-pathway to new experimental data in collaboration with CETEG team. The practical work will be performed at KTH, AlbaNova Centre, Roslagstullsbacken 21.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate will hold a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering, Automatic Control, Computational Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. BSc. candidates enrolled in an Engineering Master Degree program (above-listed) can apply as well. Knowledge of computer programming using Matlab, C++ or equivalent is requested. Experience of building websites and handling databases are strong advantages. Knowledge in instrumentation, biotechnology, biochemistry or chemical engineering is advantageous. The candidate should be highly motivated, enjoy software programming and be capable of team working. Proficiency in English and good technical mindset are important factors for the position.
